CAMSC’s 12th Annual Diversity Procurement Fair features key players in the Automotive, Pharmaceutical and Financial Sectors

Toronto  – EY, Magna, Merck, RBC and Toyota are some of the corporations searching minority and Aboriginal owned suppliers at CAMSC’s Diversity Procurement Fair on April 12-13.

Theme of 2016 Diversity Procurement Fair is “Accelerating Your Business to New Heights”. Through workshops, networking forums, and very first supplier boot camp, this two-day conference will offer opportunities to advance businesses to new heights.

“There is no better way to accelerate your business than through accessing new opportunities.” says Cassandra Dorrington, President and CEO, CAMSC. “All corporations, suppliers and government agencies that will attend are focused on the same thing, growth in our businesses. Knowing what a challenging environment we are in, we can’t afford to stand still. 2016 Diversity Procurement Fair is the best opportunity for minority and aboriginal owned businesses to meet prospective corporations, learn from leaders in supplier diversity and liaise with their peers.”

Since the Fair’s inception in 2004, North American and global corporations have spent over $1.7 billion with aboriginal and minority owned suppliers.

“Through various CAMSC events, including the Procurement Fair, we have met many promising diverse suppliers,” says Catherine Grosz, Supplier Diversity Manager, BMO Financial Group. “An example of a successful partnership is the one we have made with TeamRecruiter.com. We met through CAMSC and for almost nine years, they have been providing staffing services to BMO as part of team key talent contingent programs.”

2016 Diversity Procurement Fair on April 13 starts with a panel breakfast hosted by Kellogg’s and features Kathy Cheng, President, Redwood Classics Apparel. The luncheon keynote speaker is Reginald E. Humphrey, Sr. Manager, Supplier Diversity, General Motors. He will be sharing insights on how supplier diversity has been instrumental in GM’s growth.

This event concludes with pre-scheduled meetings where minority and Aboriginal owned suppliers have ten minutes to pitch their businesses to prospective corporate partners. For more information: https://www.camsc.ca/events?event_id=157
