While a New Year brings excitement of the possibilities for the future, it is also a fresh start in many ways. For CAMSC, it’s the beginning of our second decade. For the first 10 years, we were focused on the development and growth of our organization, our corporate and diverse supplier bases and our supplier certification process.
Our successes have been tremendous. From kick-starting our growth through the introduction of a our reciprocity agreement with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) in the U.S., to producing thought leadership pieces like the recent “Impact Report at the Prosperity Inclusion Summit,” every achievement has served as a foundation to build our future.
With that foundation in place, our focus for this new decade and beyond is accelerating our growth in terms of services, partners, and our stakeholders and increasing brand awareness. This means building strategic alliances to project the CAMSC brand so that it is front and centre with potential stakeholders. While we have a strong presence in central Canada, our immediate focus is to build awareness in Western Canada, with a focus in Manitoba and British Columbia.
We are also making efforts to facilitate international linkages. We are working with sister councils in countries such as China, Australia, South Africa, the U.K. and the U.S. to increase opportunities on a global level with diverse suppliers and corporations – many of who have global offices.
As CAMSC makes a bigger footprint in the marketplace, we can expect an even larger increase of both corporations and diverse suppliers who will come to us to facilitate and grow successful partnerships. The outcome of which will be a stronger, more vibrant and inclusive Canadian economy.
I have no doubt that with the support of all our partners, this decade will be the one where CAMSC becomes nationally recognized as the trusted business partner leading supplier diversity in Canada.
